Areas of action
The Global Security and Prevention Plan (GSPP) is the instrument put in place by the Brussels Region to link up the multiple parties active in security. The GSPP sets out a global strategic framework that harmonises measures and recommendations, from prevention to response. The plan is structured around 10 priority work themes which reflect BPS activities in the area of prevention and security.
Security in Brussels
BPS implements the decisions of the Brussels Government, the Minister-President and the Senior Official for Security Matters in the Brussels-Capital Region.
BPS plays a central role in coordinating the various operators of the prevention and security chain at regional level: it ensures consistency and complementarity by linking them in areas of activity such as civilian crisis management, support for police training and CCTV. Its policies are aimed at both preventing and taking care of a broad spectrum of security issues in all areas, in respect of spatial planning, mobility and any other competence with an impact on the physical and sense of security of people living in Brussels.
